To quote the old marketing catch-phrase: "only a surfer knows the feeling". I'm coming out of the young child tunnel myself as he turns 4 next month. I'm pretty sure I won't miss a year of not sleeping followed by a year of being sick...much improved now
South Florida cams looking pretty good right now: Here is Del Ray https://www.surfline.com/surf-report/delray-beach/5842041f4e65fad6a7708ad2 Anybody getting some of this?
Surfline is reporting South Beach at 4-7ft and “Good-Epic” , just checked the cam, looks fun. It’s starting to clean up here. There’s a few spots that are working, slowly improving.
I checked a few spots around Satellite and it’s overhead and definitely surfable, but it depends on how bad you want it. There’s still a wicked North current and looks like it takes some work to stay in position. Hoping for a good day tomorrow
Yeah tomorrow should be good. If you have time today, go further North into the Cape shadow, it’s more manageable and there’s a couple wind protection options at Pier or Jetty. The coastline bends up there and NNW / NW winds are offshore. Anything from PAFB and North should be pretty fun.
Hey What is Happening? Solid stories in here as late. Thanks for posting. Sorry about your Grandma Bass. Got a surf in at Bassmons spot on Saturday morning. The beach is being filled in. Could be doom for the place but it's breaking for now. Nice waist to chest high peaks peeled but they were a little weird. Rode the long board at first because of how soft it looked. Had a few fun ones. The first couple were so soft that I had to scoot to the nose on my chest before dropping into them. It lead to a weird drop and a couple of nosedives. A couple I was able to angle in and get down the line for a good ride but all at the nose. I found a rip and sat way outside at the end of it and waited for a good one. Rolled in easy enough with my feet on the tail with just a few paddles. Was able to fade in at the drop and then walk to the nose. Stayed there for a long time. walked back, cut back into the soup and re set my line for a little more tip time right into shore. My best ride so far but I couldn't help thinking that the fish would work in this. I never really switch up boards mid session unless the other board is on the beach, but did it this time. Grabbed the fish and had a bad time on it. I caught some waves and did some one hitters, but I couldn't get the momentum I was getting from the heavier nose rider. The swell was dying out anyway so i bailed just after a few. Got home and took the Family to a winter nature festival. Ended the day with My boy at the local university BBall game. We had churros. Hoping for more swell soon. PJ
