"Fact: Whole Foods is a massive retailer for Monsanto's GM corn, which is found in all sorts of products on the shelves at Whole Foods. This is the same strain of genetically engineered corn that French researchers recently linked to massive cancer tumors in rats."
Funny how Monsanto's seeds are immune to the aluminum found in the stratospheric aerosol geoengineering spray. Good thread, Doug.
Sure, but that's not the reason I posted that vid. The info is out there. Do your own research. Slater is a pretty sharp dude in general, btw.
good thread, i disagree with hating on Monsanto tho. It's not just about engineering a crop to have a bigger yeild. It's about helping create food sources that are tolerant and sustainable. Drought tolerant and weather resistent. What I do think is good about this topic is that it gets people to think about food sourcing. Take Quinoa (keen-wa), it's been a staple in the Peruvian diet for over 3,000 years. All of a sudden, it's labled as a "superfood" and countries export the heck out of it, driving the price so high, that the natives can't afford it. So, for countires to be able to modify this crop so that it can grow in other regions of the world is actually a good thing. The exports will go down and the natives can afford their national product again.
It's not about the modification nearly as much as it's about the toxic chemicals these modifications are designed to resist. The modifications are designed to resist pesticides and herbicides, in order to produce higher crop yields. As a result they spray crops with copius amounts of this crap, not having to worry about killing the crop along with the weeds and bugs. Pesticides and herbicides are designed to KILL living organisms. Humans are living organisms that are not genetically modified to resist these weed and bug killing poisons. The result is, these poisons cause cancer, auto-immune disorders, autism and so on, in humans. That's no surprise considering the stuff kills bugs and weeds instantaneously. Monsanto owns DuPont, who owns Round Up. They created and produced Agent Orange, while telling us that was perfectly safe too. I try to pick short vids (less than 5 min) for ya'll to check out, so I don't take up too much of your time. I don't think some of the responders check them anyway, which is fine. I'd like you to, but its your prerogative either way.
The vids are for clarification, and verification of what I'm saying, if you didn't already know.
Too late in the day for me to get into this one full on but Monsanto is pure evil! They drive native farmers out of business. They ruin heirloom crops and replace with their patented crops. If I were young and bright eyed I'd buy into the feed the masses bullsh*t but they want to control food production for their own profit. Damn, now I got to wear the tinfoil hat all the way home. Oh well.
hey Doug, good thread. glad to see someone else here posting on topics like this. I remember starting a similar thread a couple years ago and was bashed continuously for it. which leads me to wonder where Brew is to add his 2 SHILLings.
