I saw a news clip of a bunch of people looting a dollar store in Ferguson. A DOLLAR STORE. Common y'all.

this could be an opportunity to educate in two directions, if allowed the chance. but formulating, somewhat, mocking opinions over race, culture, and hegemony that you (possibly) know little about makes you no better than the people (looters) you ridicule. there are a lot pissed people out there, from coast to coast, and personally i think they should be listened to because i don't see this country making it if we don't begin to attempt to empathize with one another (and don't be mistaken, empathy is very different from sympathy).

I felt like I was wathching The Purge last night.

 

How do you educate people who don't want to listen? And I don't think anyone on here is mocking or formulating opinions on race, culture, and hegemony. We are formulating opinions on actual ACTIONS of a certain race. This kid was def not a roll model! Did he deserve to get shot, absolutely not!!! I don't live there and I have not seen what some of these people have seen or lived, so I dont feel like I have enough info to stand on either side. But one thing I can say is, Don't burn your own house down because you are angry. you are right, when it comes down to it, it's not funny. And you know, I would be willing to bet that, 75% of these people out doing this $hit, did not know the young man or the family or have ANYTHING to do with this. It's an opportunity to them to get free stuff and destroy and or be on the news. okay, I am done
