You don't see a lot of sponges in many places because most people surf. Duh! You can bodyboard any wave a surfer can ride. You can bodyboard total mush or barrels.

Now if you are completely insane, then you even try sponging Jaws and paddling into it at that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFjMWLH9VgY&noredirect=1

shark-hunter is like your friend that is cool except sometimes he picks fights and then needs back up because he bit off more than he could chew and now you are standing there facing the dilemna do you let your friend get it or do you take a bite yourself...

I mean I'm hungry... but I'm not that hungry

But keep fighting the good fight shark-hunter, I'm gonna save my energy for burning bystanders in the line up. That's what I'm calling them now, because they are forced to be bystanders wathcing me drop on the peak and get shacked silly.

yep, a few feet over head and glassy mon frere. ahh to go back in time...

wait i was thinking of another picture... That is still the banks though but that day wasn't glassy it was overhead and absolutely detonating on the inside bars on pea island. they were touching the bottom and pulverizing. and it was cold. That day was intense, took a serious pounding just trying to get out.

man I haven't been on here in 24 hrs and theres like 15 new pages.cant even find out where I left off and who insulted me.surf and sponging 2 different breeds in the same environment.yes im sure the tricks like flying off the lip in the barrel is hard, but just going straight,ur either gonna catch the face and glide,or take it on the head and get blasted to the beach.each scenario u win.a lot of surfers have died over the years.cant recall any bodyboarders that got so werked they passed

Bro I recently almost drowned getting worked so I'm sure it's just a numbers game. Actually there was a young man that drowned who was body boarding a few years back at oregon inlet and got drilled into the shallow sand on a 3 foot summer day.

Not that that is justification for anything. Regardless I Just can't imagine some of the hate you guys justify. If you hated people for such petty reasons in all aspects of your life you would be a biggot or prejudice, but you allow yourself to feel that way towards bodyboarders.

But seriously, SUP, who needs them? I think we all need to unite and get those kooks out of the line ups for good. Who's with me? Let's take this oppurtuntiy to unite as brothers, bystanders and boogers hand in hand. Platonically of course.

And you could say the same thing about surfing. Just go straight or get blasted. WTF?

Isn't NOT dying/getting maimed a good thing? And lots of bodyboarders sadly have been paralyzed and killed including some at the wedge, which is why I wouldn't touch a dangerous shore pound like that with a 10 foot pole. You think bodyboarding 50 foot jaws is safe? lol

Honestly one of the most asinine comments I've ever head when it comes to ocean safety.

If in doubt don't go out. If you know what you're doing and not going out at huge dangerous shorepound breaks then you should be fine :)

It would be safer to ride with lifeguards on duty, but of course that's impossible, since the beaches on the ec are not even staffed properly during fall and spring with a full time professional lifeguards. The guards are just for tourist season. It would be nice to have them dawn to dusk april 15 to nov. 31 and have up those flags for no surfing which I absolutely LOVE! :) Sponges and swimmers only and super cool lifeguards that don't hassle you

The most scary is when there is not a soul on the beach or in the water if some fluke thing was to happen.
BUT, Overall, bodyboarding is very safe thankfully :) I do it for the love. Not for some silly rush of risking my life.

Poor sap doesn't realize how much of a KOOK he sounds like when he talks about Blacks, Malibu, etc. and hasn't even surfed any of them....all the while he's humping the sponge.

Keep posting those YouTube videos and cutting/pasting info on all the spots you've never surfed. You might gain some cred eventually.

I've rode breaks way heavier than malibu. Give me a break bro. Any east coast heavy beach break is heavier than that. You've been served

Have you ever talked about breaks you've never rode before? LOL

I guess you can't discuss the north shore than...EVER. If you've never been there.

LOL....Hey Einstein. It's under the water. You realize there is sand at pipeline right? A beach right? God this is too funny. WTF does this have to do with bodyboarding anyway.

Google "cobblestone bottom malibu surf break"

So maybe 50 sites are wrong? Malibu conspiracy? I've freely admitted I've never been there. Just telling you what people are saying.

Ok sharky and whoever sbx is. You guys are the kings of the online shred.

Keep it up, maybe someday you'll see these places with your own eyes. And maybe, just maybe you'll get to kick out to the line up.
