i think the drive-thru's are funny and interesting at points. drive thru caribean when donny feeds the monkey beer and its humping yadin's head? i thought it was funny
Agree...I didnt really like The Present that much.. I totally agree about Busting Down the Door being great, The surfing is amazing considering the equipment of the day ...flat rockered single fins...but on the other hand i could see someone bumming on all the time spent on Rabbit's misfortunes..even though i thought it made for a great back story
Whoa ho! Huh huh huh You're so funny all the time! There's so many BETTER bodyboarding movies out right now that you wouldn't even begin to understand. Keep hating, ya douche
i 2nd this.bodyboard vids are sick.watch "fire".for that matter,watch some of those sick bro's charging "cyclops" on youtube on a bodyboard.hardcore
The question kinda hit it on the head - most of what we see today are surf videos, most of which are public relations advertising dressed up as general surf videos. There are very few surf movies or surf films. After seeing one after the other "(insert company name) Trek to Wonderland (insert country name)" with the same cast of characters doing repeated airs and multiple close-up 360s, it all becomes rather boring. These videos lack a storyline, theme or connection to the everyday average waveriding bloke.
the old surf movies r awesome considering the boards and style is great, now days the aerial maneuvers in bodyboard videos i think put them on top of today's surf movies. The riding level is ridiculous on both boards but lostsoul to chime in about bodyboarding in a negative way for no reason is pathetic. shows your lack of knowledge in any surfing sport.
ROAM 2 is my fav and the tension series runner up, only thing with the tension is they seem to re-run the same clips. I like movies that tell you more about the location, bottom, etc.. You don’t find this very often so I like some of the fuel tv shows that give details about breaks. . Just wish fuel tv would remove there boycott on bodyboarding.
i thought the brah boys was pretty interesting, though it was more of a documentary than an actual movie
Can't think of a bad...lost movie. I especially like the lost across America movies... Pros and ripping Joes. Like the cover says ...surfing isn't all about a bro down boat trip to Indo staring the momentum generation. Kick arse surfing goes down all over this great country. Always gets me pumped
Picaresque is a good film as well Mikey DeTemple make some awsome movies too Here's the trailer for when it came out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1lleZGyYpc
There's also one called MIA (Missing in the Atlantic). Some of you might have heard of the producer - Micah Sklut.
I just watched Super Slide and I have to say its a modern version of Endless Summer 1 . Its show the history of longboarding well actually how longboarding has evolved into what it is today. Definatly worth watching
There's a film coming out some time this year (I think it's about to show/ showing now at Santa Barbara film festival). It's called God Went Surfing with the Devil, and it's about trying to sneakily deliver surfboards to some surfers in Gaza. From the trailers, it looks amazing. Just youtube search the title and it should appear. I can't wait to give that a watch.
Some of the old Plan B video's from the early 90's were sick too. Virtual Reality, and the Questionable video were the first two skate video's I ever seen, Patt Duffy did some insane stuff in them video's
Anyone see this on Surfline: http://www.surfline.com/video/kelly-slater-quiksilver-cyphervision Just a 15 minute short film with Kelly, Dane, Julian Wilson, and Jeremy Flores but has some cool camera work and slow motion shots.
