Why isnt this low kicking up the surf?

    A nice low pressure system offshore. Why isn't it exploding and generating good swell?

    Pretend to hate surfing. Watch the swell shoot up.
    Scientifically proven!! By all them UFOs flying around.

    Yep Barry is right, surf comes from UFO propulsion drives.

    because it was not preceded by onshore flow.
    if you imagine the comma-shaped low pressure center;
    a fetch only runs along a (predictable) yet arbitrary path.
    which is either directed at us or not.

    Because we had 8 inches of snow, work is closed, and by noon it was sunny and offshore.
