I didn't instigate anything. Bill and I were ragging on each other and joking around. He got this and was having fun. You jumped in and got angry. Yes, my new home is awesome. That is why I live here. Sorry you don't feel the same way about your home, and choose to bash the south when you have nothing positive to say about your state. My feelings can't be hurt on here. I have been communicating in a civil manner, as an adult. Most of your posts on this forum have been insults or aimed at starting a fight. Don't mistake my love and passion for Charleston as some sort of angry defense. I have lived in many states, and visited just about every part of this country. My new home is what fits my wants and needs in life. Good weather, great food, multiple uncrowded beaches, low cost of living, and even rideable waves. If I want larger waves, I can always plan a vacation. However, surfing alone does not satisfy my desires in life.

It's always a bad idea to think in generalizations. As a native southerner living in the northeast, I can say first hand real Jersey folks are good people and I've caught some sick waves in the Garden State. Honestly it pumps harder than most everywhere down south except for the Outer Banks when the swell is on.

 

If you cant' find cool places in every state you are not looking... There are sick beaches and towns in every coastal state.

My statement about having more fun is based on the fact that you felt the need to point out the "old days" as something better than today. Most of you old school surfers lost your real love of the sport long ago. That is why you long for the past.

As the king of sweeping generalizations, it is interesting that now you are trying to make me look like the aggressor here. You can't make a dozen posts calling all southerners uneducated inbred hicks, and all of the sudden be a saint. I never insulted the north in general (Why would I, as someone born and raised in the north, insult my original home). I only insulted you, which I believe was more than warranted when you make statements like this:
