Why do you feel the need that we need to improve the discussions? If you don't like a thread, you don't have to read it or respond to it. What have you done to improve the quality of this forum? I can assure you that "Why this forum is worthless..." is not going to help anything.

hahahahaha dirty ole first street... I agree Bub. At least for the EC, there might not be any secret spots left. just ones people might have a hard time getting to if they weren't determined. I can't speak for California, but when I surfed in WA state this summer, the locals were more than welcome to tell me where and when to go. It all depends on the population of the surfers when it comes down to it. who cares if you're a local or not. if you can surf (to a certain skill level appropriate to the wave, surroundings, etc...) who cares?

Its an open forum and I felt i had a valid point and could contribute and thoughtful discussion. Im not going to answer your first question. Ill give you a quote a wise man who i have spent time with told me. "We can always do better"

What would Wardo do? he would first be drunk as ****, screw your chick while you were surfing, go for a sesh and in the process thrash and burn everyone in the lineup at least once, paddle back in, screw your chick again while you were still out and then continue drinking and if anyone wanted to fight him, he would take them on. After he would then proceed to party on. God damn he is a crazy mother but like they said in War(d) stories, you either love him or hate him

The forum takes on almost a culture of its own, based on the past history of who talks about what.
Its almost impossible for even the owner to mold it however, he/she wants.
So, I say, bring on some good conversation and be the catalyst for some interesting topics. I'm not sure that happened in this thread.

You're right, it is an open forum. Every single post and thread on this forum has stemmed from what another believed was a valid point.

Your quote is an excellent one - a wall hanger - but who is to say that we are not already doing better? There is always room for improvement, but content on a forum? Really?

im always the only one out during winter, so i would encourage people to join. Surfing in the cold winter when it gets big and choppy and rainy is pretty scary alone.

too many people in the world plus the big sup boards. Maine is the last stand as far as crowds it sounds like.

which spots are you talking about bc i surf in NY and whenever theres some swell theres always a few guys out. once or twice when its waist to chest high and it shows 1-2 on the forecast nobody goes out and i check it out anyway and surf it.

Bubonic began this thread by stating the forum was bunk because nobody named their specific spots. He failed to mention in the original post his own break. Then, when asked, provided this very vague answer.

Skimdog - Here I come. I'm bringing everyone with me. Even Dave and Lauren Ginsberg from from GreenSurf, unless Leethestud has arrived down there already. Since the folks in cali are suffering terribly cold weather (Downeasters begin chuckling) I dont think they'd mind the cold either. We know you have some legit, long point breaks up there. I heard so in a surf forum.

your missing the point entierly I donʻt have my "own" break. Last place I surfed was Karge st in Bay Head. If you disagree with me explain why, your off the point.

First of all spots change and evolve all the time. Second, half the fun of surfing is the figuring out part. Maybe its because I am older, but I don't want anyone to tell me their spots. I want to find my own and figure out when it works best and why. I'm not sure if its a "kids these days" thing or what, but people seem to be lazy. Lastly, if your telling me your spot chances are you have moved on or you also told everyone else.

I think its pretty standard for people to not want to surf in crowds...
I've never heard of anyone who has said in the lineup, I wish there were more people out here.

Great points and I agree with you. I didnʻt make this thread to find out any spot, trust me. I tend to be this way as well and I prefer to find new spots and test my own knowledge. I made the thread to dispel the hostility and false bravado about naming spots in pictures and descriptions.
