Wind just shifted WNW - I'm going.

Glad so many people got some. Was good in southern NC after about 1pm Monday once the winds changed. But the winds were a howlin' offshore. Haven't surfed in winds like that in a while. The first wave I picked off was a nice peaky head high wave. A lot closeouts later but the sun came out and it was still pretty warm. Cold out this morning though and going to catch the thigh-waist leftovers before it gets flat.

 

3 buddies and myself scored a private sesh. The surf was over head, thick, and tubing in a blizzard. The surf got bigger the whole time we surfed, and turned out to be pretty solid. Everything was crunchy frozen when we got out at 5:15, plus it was windy and cold as a mutha f*cka.

Overall, we got some good tubes and beatings, with lots of air drops.

 

Good for you. Jealous here. I worked until 4. The roads were sh*t. If I woulda attempted to surf, my normal 15 min ride to the beach would have taken 40 mins according to what people were saying. I would have surfed for 15 mins...LOL.

 

Yeah, the roads were slicker then a whore early on a Friday. 4x4 helped fo sho. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The waves weren't perfect, but they were fun. Against the grain, south shifting rights, and some with the grain lefts.

 

Nice stuff Doug! I was going to say when I got out yesterday it was still getting bigger, wanted to say I saw some OH sets but try not to exaggerate. One things for sure, there was some really fun, good sized waves yesterday. I'm still on cloud 9 after that session. Don't do the whole social media thing but a buddy sent me this, same area/time of my session apparently......
