I'm looking forward to the chill zone. Autumn/winter surfing, that is. Have the wetsuits. Need the digits protected.

Would appreciate any user opinions / recommendations on 5mm booties (split toe? round toe?) , size 12, new only.

Need gloves, as well. Xcel ? Rip Curl ?

BTW, I tried www.backcountry.com, but they said they're getting out of the surf gear biz, they have nothing in anything other than small-man size. No offense intended. :D

I like to have my feet completely toasty so I use 7mm Billabong SG5 booties and my feet have never gotten cold no matter how long i'm out. I only use them when the temp is 50 or less, 3mm is fine for anything above. If you wear a 12 shoe get a size 11 bootie.... will loosen when wet just as a suit does. I use 5mm Excell drylock gloves. Warm, tapered wrists very flexible.
