I was out for an hour just before evening yesterday off VB in my 4/3. Water temp was 48 or so, but air temp dropped from 46 to 38 during that time (based on car thermometer). I was starting to feel cold by the end of the session. It was the air temp that did it. The 4/3 got me through last winter, but the coldest I went out then was water 42, air 43. Good boots, gloves, and a hood certainly help. One's age doesn't, however. At 58, one seems to be more sensitive to cold. Must be a slowing metabolism or other signs of decrepitude. Keep hearing Neil Young's "Old Man" playing in my head. Onset of senility, perhaps.
