My kids have their vaccines with the exception of the flu shot. We will take our chances against the flu. Especially since the CDC ****s up every year and puts out a flu shot with the wrong strain and then say sorry. The shot is worthless but big Pharma just made billions. Let's put another ad for getting the flu shot. Don't forget the HPV one and shingles, you could die!!

I do think vaccines make a ton of money for big Pharma. I don't believe anything they tell me but I do believe scientific facts. I just don't buy the flu shot especially since that is their biggest money maker. They tell all ages to get it and even have people on TV shows pushing it. It's a joke. No problems with the other vaccines which actually have proven themselves over the years. I also love the news saying their is a flu epidemic because some people died of the flu. They don't bother saying that all these people had underlying conditions or were 100 years old.

my experiences with the flu vaccine have been eclectic - worked well to not at all - yet i seem to feel
that the vaccine makes the flu, when i eventually get it, less virulent.

They do not track death stats for "normal" folks. They only track the child and elderly as they are the most at risk. And regardless of what you think it is not always an underlying conditon or age. A healthy 10 year old girl at my mother in laws peds practice died of the flu in 2011. She had no other conditions or issues. I personally tend to forget to get my flu vaccine casue I'm lazy but would never allow my 9 year old not to get it.

Saying not to get it becasue it makes money for big pharma is a dumb reason not to get the vaccine. Most folks hate big oil but I bet you drive a car right?

Me, wife and kids are vaccinated. Kids get a flu vaccine by an inhalant. I don't get flu shot because I don't get the flu and I know 4 people who have been struck severely with Guillan Barre syndrome. Rather take my chances with the flu. Not vaccinating for measles ,polio, mumps ect. I can't understand.

Same here. Last year the pediatrician gave it to me at the same time as my kid, for like 20 bucks out of pocket or something. I'm usually too lazy otherwise. Most years I end up regretting not getting it.

I agree that shouldn't be a reason but when it comes to the flu, we will take our chances. You have a better chance of winning powerball than dying from the flu and you can still get the flu regardless of the flu shot. I know plenty of friends and relatives you got the shot and still got the flu. Where is the logic in getting it then because all these doctors say so? I"m sure some are pushing the free samples they get for big pharma sales reps too.

My son throw up, got seizures and could't even stand, the night and following day after getting a vaccine. He is now fine but it still makes me worry. This was a vaccine where I understand the rare side effects outweigh getting the virus. I'm just talking about the flu vaccine.

Can't really compare big oil and a car to big pharma and drugs because I care more about kids than my car. I'm not saying vaccines are bad I just don't agree with the flu shot. Give your kid the shot where it might give him the flu and he still could get it, doesn't make sense to me. If it comforts others, that's fine. It's up to the parents.

This is exactly what I'm saying. MMR and dtp vaccines I completely understand. The flu I don't understand. Just something for people to check off on their list to think they safeguarding themselves or their children. Sides effects from the flu shot and the possiblity of still getting the flu even if you get the shot, definitely makes my mind up to not get the shot.

My wife would get the flu shot religiously until 2 years ago; she got the shot, three weeks later got the flu, and was so sick, after 10 days, went to the doctor to make sure she wasn't dying...

This year I got a flu shot for the first time ever. (It was free and I happened to be at that location for another reason so said why not?) My wife had a pretty nasty flu last week. I stayed healthy. It's all a crap shoot.

Before we were pussified with monotheistic thought control and anthropocentrism, our gods, all of our gods, sat with the likes of wolves.
