well boys, hope your getting some. Im not, and this is reminding me: http://www.surfline.com/surf-report/padang-padang-indonesia_7214/

think ill probably go there in the off season but for now im land locked due to red flag fire warnings and expected dry lightning on my fire district. My boss wont let me sneak away to the coast to snag a couple in the NW. Bummer. Fire season sucks but i need to fill the coffers and pay my debt to Babylonian society. Anyone else landlocked and working overtime opposed to getting salty and pitted in some foreign tubes?

i got to keep telling myself its worth sacrificing a summer of par or sub par waves in the states for a winter and spring of epic conditions elsewhere, but it doesnt make the day to day any easier. getting emo over here boys i had to buy a road bike for godsake. WHAT HAS SEATTLE DONE TO ME?

You didn't miss anything this weekend dude...2' crowded choppy mush. I don't want to rub it in but Wednesday was glassy, shoulder to head and firing...even better than the day before. Fourth of July weekend will no doubt be retarded around here...if you can get a day off, I'd probably surf the spots north of here around the Makah Nation.

Everybody here is well aware of the fire hazard this year...heck, we're even getting tinderbox conditions on the coast...hate to think about what's going on east of here. Chelan and Wenatchee are well into the 100's, it's going to be a bad fire season this year.

So, if it makes you feel any better: your work here IS appreciated. Keep your head up and be safe, we will be trading good waves here before you know it.

Trev, you've got a sweet setup, even when you're working, you're probably in the woods, as opposed to stuck in an office, crunching numbers for some company that solely exists to enrich some basic assh*le.

You chose wisely dude. Now stay calm and reap the rewards! Don't lose your sh*t and start setting fires like all those other crazy fireman in the movies. Nah you gotta be the hero like Howie Long in "Firestorm," the greatest football-player Fireman movie to ever come out of Hollywood!

Keep living it up Trev, and they might make a move about your life as a fireman-surfer - starring Kelly Slater as a jaded and grizzled ex-pro who leaves the WSL to fight wildfires, only to find out that the fires have been arson the entire time. Now our hero must track down the main suspect, a New Zealand shaper who is burning forests to reduce the wood supply in a ruthless campaign to drive the prices of his boards even higher. Obviously our hero must murder this suspect with a fireman ax to the chest, on the Fourth of July no doubt. There will also be surfing, a cool sidekick dog, boozing shenanigans, and a couple of Orca attacks for good measure.

It's gonna be the feel-good fireman surfer sleeper hit of the summer.

Life happens. I know that sounds trite.
It depends on what stage of life you're in at the time. For me it's been taking are of aging Mom and Pop who are in their 80s. Gets a bit stressful. This has been on top of my other responsibilities. BTW, make sure your folks have long term care policies.
So, I haven't been loggin' much time in the water since December. Bought a new/used longboard in late April but haven't been able to spend much time on it. I do manage to sneak on a sesh here and there.
    Lunch time tomorrow...I hope.

    Real surfers don't work.

This work thing is really screwing-up my day today.

    Yesterday was solid...

Today is a relaxing rip-fest. And I'm sitting here whacking a keyboard.

Yesterday got me stoked again. Work ruined the ride.

    Kids, never work.

It was nice this morning; still a bit disorganized, but no wind. Had a few good waves, most overhead. But getting out was definitely hammer time!! At the place I was at, I was the only one that got out at first dawn light, and only so by luck and perseverance. Beachbreaks do have their challenges, and when overhead, getting out is surely one of them!! But, fun anyways....and I am now pretty tired......

    Barry, give me $500.

    Or else.

I'm thinking of extorting people on here.

(IHL, I'm just kidding don't bring RICO charges against me...)

Thanks, Seldom. SUP and soft top rentals were out in force today off Dam Neck but no dorsal fins. Water felt like 80. Wave-wise nothing special, but it was good to get out. First time in 2 1/2 weeks. Will be out again tomorrow.

trev dude, you have the best job out of anyone here.

First off, you get to be outside all year

    Second, youre in the wilderness

Third, you have half a year off to travel and surf

fourth, i bet you make at least a mediocre living

fifth, youre not in an office

sixth, your work is actually doing something good for humanity

sure you might be in idaho, eastern washington, nevada, utah or whereever else is desolate and away from waves for a few months, but at least you dont need to bring a suit with you to the water and get out to make it to work in time.

I would hump Rosie O'Donnell for 4 months straight, if I knew that an Indo trip was waiting for me afterwards.
