Well, at least Brazil has the Olympics in two years. Because after this week, all the revenue leaves, no world cup victory and everyone has to go back to reality. They will open the slums back up for a year and a half until they round them up again.

Who needs hospitals and schools when you can drop $20 Billion dollars into the World Cup for public works.

Cause that was smart. I hope that Brazil clocked $50 Billion in Revenue over the past month, otherwise they tossed away enough money to fix the damn country for nothing.

Was thinking the same thing. These people take soccer too seriously, it's a f'ing game! Hope nobody gets whacked as a result of that loss. Although it was the ugliest loss I think I've ever seen, nobody should die over it though.

It was historically, the worst loss in world cup History. On home turf. All the tears from the players really bugs me though. I mean, they were getting destroyed the entire match, yet when the whistle blows, they fall to the ground and the hysteria begins. During the post game interview, they couldn't even get words out. Just tears streaming, sobbing. Grown as$ men.

I know, I know... Its the emotions. I don't know what it's like to play for your country, blah blah....

But don't act so surprised when you are down 7 goals with 2 minutes left. They should have gotten all the crying out in the locker room at half time. I am surprised they even showed up on the field to finish the game...

Never played on that level, but as a multisport player in HS and a soccer player in college, I have never wept after any competetive match, regardless of the situation or outcome... I had guys on a bus ride home, crying and sh** in the back of the bus. I would just shake my head. It's a fu**ing game. And if we would have all played better, we wouldn't be riding home right now...

There is no crying in sports. ANY SPORTS.

vaginas. You didn't see the American's crying and you didn't see them flopping all over the place either. We were talking black eyes and broken noses. And when we got sent home, we knew we deserved it.

Well said Zach, I don't mind a little emotion, but Brazilians are notorious for being over the top with it. They brag more than anybody when they win, and they sob more than anybody when they lose. Not just soccer, I notice this a lot in MMA too.

Been lurking from time to time on the forum when I check the forecast. Work and life are full on right now. Hope everyone has been getting some waves. Looks like from the posts on the past storm the folks to the south got it a lot better than New England. Was a short burst. For the most part blown out at my breaks.

Wasn't that flat here. Surfed some this morning and now I'm about to sit back and crack open a beer and then watch these two countries go at it. Although it's a shame how the Brasil National team collapsed in this WC, this is gonna sting their collective futbol minds for a while, but what better place to drown your sorrows than Rio?

Anyways, here's a link you all may enjoy:

I hear those seaspecs work pretty good, considered em myself since I always surf at sunrise, gotta stair right into the sun or hold my hand up to block the sun at times. I'm just glad I can judge the waves better. Argentina looks good but Germany has had possession mostly. You're right about Messi though.

Yup, see beginning of this thread. I should have put money on the German Machine. Damnit. Great game though. They were for sure the better team. Blown opportunities for both, but ended it when it mattered. IMO, Argentina snuck into the finals through the back door. Overall, I was unimpressed with their showing the whole time. They just had a light road to get there, stole a win in PKs from Holland and lost to the better team.

And how did Messi get the golden boot? BS. He didn't deserve that.

Sure, Messi IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD, but there were 3 players just on the German squad that out played him this year. Muller had 5 GOALS! AGAIN!

Ohh well, I can't complain. My German's brought the cup back to the mother land and have a squad capable of dominating for the next 6-8 years.
