got nothin to lose...so here goes.....i pick JJF. He wins epic battles w/kelly; medina too. also and as always beware los brasilleros.
This is Taj's year. He hit the wall a few times last year against the draws. The mags and sites always pick a fav and pump 'em up. JJF is amazing, but so is all but 2 (that I have seen) on tour. They pumped up Bruce, Dane, Wilko (all great, innovative guys) and then they moved on. It's like Hollywood dirt rags TMZ got a job covering Surfing. Consistency wins contest and the tour. JJF def has it. But I know that Taj is overdue and seriously hungry for it.
forecast sucks. just like last year and the year before and the year before. its a disgrace that oz can't offer these guys a decent venue. its not like they're rio.....
and the forecast tanks further. looks like one for the small wave-wizards. look for jjf and kelly to be dis-interested. i pick taj.
would be cool to see taj win but hes not a smart competitor and his fire burned out a long time ago.they called it his year a decade ago.he has the skills to beat anyone just poor wave choices and priority battles.medina lol doesn't have the skills to beat everyone, but hes a smart competitor, knows what waves to take off on,what waves to sell the other guy on.the Tahiti final with medina and slater just proved how great of a competitor he is,didnt prove he was the best surfer, but the way he kept making slater lose priority was heartbreaking.if slater got those waves he would've won because medina surfed the big ones as safely as possible instead of charging straight into it. is bede durbige still on tour?hes another one id like to see do good.the tour is a tricky thing u have awesome surfers that get kook results, like Sebastian ziets.hes on the same caliber as jjf,but when it comes to competition he sucks.
that ones' not bad but somebody did one at the goldie contest ystdy... you'll like it when u see it...
