Then you should have stayed out west, cupcake.

If you move to a place don't start ripping on it. Only locals get to do that, lol.

You want rude? Drive in the DC metro region. Every single person's time is worth more than your time, and they will let you know it on the roads. Hampton Roads is a slide compared to DC metro.

Cali people always b!tch about east coast manners. Hey, look at it in the positive sense: you know where you stand with us right coasters 'cause we let you know the deal. Over there on the left coast, those people will smile at you & act all nice like it's cool while inserting knife between shoulder blades. They're not even good at it, either.

chucka-boo-boo, why, oh why, do you open yourself to mutation?

You are a troll, a troll who is utterly lost without spell check. You live in a Maine barn with latex love dolls that you assault & then post films of. You gravitate to moron narcissistic gnomes. You're not "of a higher sophistication." You're not "intellectually superior."

You're chucka-boo-boo, and your daddy has done you a tremendous disservice by filling your cratered noggin with the idea that you are smart; you're like the children of Lake Wobegon, and watching you claim superiority over the rest of us mere mortals in the human race is not only comical, it's, well....worrisome, actually; is your middle name 'wayne'.....as in John Wayne Gacy...?

    "Cupcake"??...

DC's no treat. Been there often. Neither is the drive up I-95 sometimes. Been doing that weekly lately. But you generally know what to expect. Same thing down here after living in the area for awhile. Just have to go with the flow and not let the a-holes get you down.

Back to the topic. I haven't had any problems so far; but I haven't been surfing long, and I do my best to play by the rules. Also, most of my surfing has been off a Navy base (Dam Neck) where the folks I see are friendly and respectful of others. I do get over to 1st Street sometimes during winter thru until 1 April when the City resumes charging for parking. Had no problems there either during that time frame. I do stay away from the place in the summer.

Worst surf etiquette on earth = Brazilians. Hands down. "Apparently" down in Brazil, they do not have any structured surfing regulations. No lineups, not rules. Just dropins followed by the occasional machete fight on the beach afterwards.

Anyone who has spent time in Southern California has encountered these lovely South Americans. Locals would just trash on these guys for the past decade. If they hear Portuguese, you are usually asked to leave by a large, angry pack of locals with-in minutes.

No Manners. They are worse than a Christian surf organization from VB. If you can believe that.

Ohh, and a close third place after the above 2 listed, is the regular crew at Lowers. All of them. What a freaking sh** show. Its like, there are 30 guys yelling, screaming, fist fighting off their board, while the other 30 of us are yelling at all of them to shutup, starting even more fights. The intentional drop-ins. I have seen the spear move pulled a couple times there. The drop-in followed by a diving tackle, followed by a fist fight in the impact zone, followed by a third guy getting into a fight cause these guys were in his way, followed by more of us telling them all to shut up and take it to the beach....

It is the worst sh** show I have ever seen.... Has to be worse than Pipeline on a 3-5 foot day with 180 guys on it.

Whoaaa, this place continues to baffle.......

Look I don't like modern society much. I think everything sucks. Music, movies, culture, etc. Anchorman was not funny. All the publicity stunts Mr. Farrell did promoting the sequel were almost embarrassing......

But nowadays I'm starting to feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.........I don't understand anybody and they must not understand me.........

    NORTH JERSEY IS FRIENDLY ???

    SOUTH JERSEY IS UNFRIENDLY ???

Say what??? North Jersey people are just deplorable. Their attitudes can be felt from the moon.

South Jersey is nothing but humble, simple folks.

Ok, ok there's some Ocean City punks that think they are tough, but they're scared of Camden. They're all bark no bite. And yeah, there's some fools who think they are cool from LBI (the most sheltered place in New Jersey...they just discovered dope two years ago and OD from AC dope, which is total garbage)

But the majority of South Jersey people are nice people......with pick-up trucks.

Let me put it this way: In Harold & Kumar Go To Whitecastle............Harold's coworkers, the ones who were giving him the business, represent EVERY North Jersey person in existence. Totally. South Jersey people are like Harold and Kumar........ just put flannel shirts on them, make them white and give them a pick-up truck.....

North Jersey is full of horrible places like Keansburg, Boonton, Newark, Elizabeth, The Oranges, Patterson........

South Jersey is home to endearing communities like Atlantic City, Bridgeton, Vineland, Camden, Pleasantville,

North Jersey has better surfers ??

Ben Graeff is the 5th best surfer in New Jersey.

Sam Hammer wins The Grudge Match because of industry politics.

Matt Keenan is the best. Rob and Chris Kelly are the best surfers to ever share bunk beds together. Andrew Gesler's mom shops at Heritage. Ian Bloch scares senior citizens with his hacks.

Bob Mestrehazy is the best criminal surfer the state has ever produced. Dean Randazzo is the only Jersey douche to make the real tour. Zach Humphries rules Bayhead. That Mikey Ciamarello dude will lead the Garden State. Shoot we even have the best Vaginal American surfer, in the state. But I forget her nombre.....Cassidy or something.......

North Jersey surfers suck.......except for Archy. Yeah North Jersey has Belmar but...........that's aboot it.

all the jersey pros were born little rich kids who had mom n pops surf and been going to trips to Hawaii and mexico since they were 12,and people wonder why theyr the best in the state.truth is nj doesn't set the bar with surfing.i wish I could go down to my local spots and see guys getting shacked, doing mean carves, airs, etc.truth is wave of the day comes,3 people take off,2 go straight, one does a horrible attempt at a carve.i don't hate on the jersey pros, they all rip and deserve their sponsors but they are hyped up too much.i met hammer a few years ago when he and gleason showed up at my local spot, which is as rare as hell turning cold, but they did and seemed pretty mellow and friendly.i can only compare Belmar to off the wall on the north shore, theres 30 different photographers all taking the same pic of the same guy on the same wave.then u see real local guys getting shacked and ask for cred on the internet.you couldn't ask the guy,hey that was a great ride whats your name?

I don't really see how north jersey is different or any better/worse than south jersey,or even Delaware, virginia, obx.its all sandbars, all our beaches face east, some south east.its usually a case of no sandbar here, lets drive 1o miles south.i see thick hollow tubes in long branch, and also see thick hollow tubes in bayhead.bayheads the sickest spot in jersey, well think that all u want and go down there and not catch a wave for 2 hours because your out with wavehogs who want their new shot on surfline.I think pro surfing is retarded nowadays, theres kids on tour who cant even carve.jjf and seabass, the only 2 groms who can really surf.kelly is Kelly and no argument there.mick/parko same guy in different hair colors.they hold contests in least favorable conditions.this years pipemasters, somewhat epic.2days after the contest, swell of the decade hits.it was the same scenario last year.you hold the worlds best surfers for contests, put 100k on the line,u should wait til conditions are absolutely perfect where guys are trading off high 8s,9s,10s.u see heats with cj hobgood losing with a 2wave total of 5.13 when we know these guys are the best in the world..
heres my pick for the world tour stops.
ocean beach san fran between oct-dec.
    saquerema brazil during spring
    france can stay
    Portugal can stay
    nias,indo anytime
    Tahiti can stay
lower trestles definitely needs to be cut
Puerto Escondido mexico during the summer
anywhere in chile in the winter
    and pipe can stay

The only defense for VB is, at least in not Joisey. It applies for everything. It's mostly flat, BUT at least in not Joisey. There's too many Northern Tourons, BUT at least in not Joisey. See?

O.K. so it sounds like I'm in the right spot here in FL. I have not had a negative experience that was so bad that I had to regurgitate it . I must have the best luck on the forum , either that or I know who to surf near or with. Had a tough session today but all in all met some pretty awesome people again.

I'm with you man. In 10 years of surfing the east coast, I encountered exactly ONE rude individual in the water (as compared to 1000 on the internet!).
