Did you get the hypothermia recently with todays 6mill technology etc? Or did that happened to you a while back? were you just out too long in the winter?
I once got racked across a rock jetty on a day that there was a 6 ft mixed swell. I paddled out along the jetty and then a clean up set came from the opposite direction and got pounded on the rocks....broke or cracked a rib....in either case it hurt.
Happened way back in the mid-80s. Too stoked or stupid to get out early enough. Those suits back then really sucked!!
Never really got too banged up but a couple weeks ago I almost got thrown into one of those giant sewerage pipes in Bradly.I was using my long board, the current was strong and the waves were a pretty decent size.I ditched my board because I just kept getting pushed back by some sets and then the current was taking me.I was 1 wave away from going into the opening of the pipe. Then as I made it to the other side my leash gets wrapped around the pipe and starts pulling me down. The last thing I remember is grabbing my ankle to get my leash off.I don't even remember if I took it off but I belive I did.It was a real sketchy sittuation but thank God I got out of it.I dont believe the pipe had a grate in front of it which is pretty messed up.
dont even get me started... broke my left wrist twice skating. once when doing an axel stall on my friends quarter pipe. i hit one of my trucks on the way down, then ended up falling 5 feet down right onto my wrist. ive gotten multiple stitches from skating, i dont remember how many this past winter I broke BOTH of my arms (at the same time) while snowboarding in vermont. I was attempting a 360 over a decent size jump and hit the edge of my board on the take off. I went flying backwards and landed on my hands, then head. i didnt get up for about 10 minutes until some lady came by and yelled at me for waiting too long. i somehow forced myself up then rode back down to the lift where I had to wait 30 minutes in the snow because i couldnt even undo my bindings. my friend needed to do them for me, then walk me back up a huge hill to the house we were renting. when i got my gloves off i almost puked. my arms were so f**Cked it was ridiculous. twisted, crooked, and swelled up as hell. they had to sedate me in the emergency room because setting them took so long and would have been way too painful. missed half the winter because of that
Hit my head on the sand a couple times when it was really shallow, thats all though. Hope i dont get any serious injuries like getting my nutz split open......ouch.
