    And on the women's side of the comp, I added wild card Bethany Hamilton to my 'team' - - hope she tears it up, what a story she has lived.

    Saw a clip of her free surfing, yah, she is one bad chica on a board....as Slater stated, how would it be if we all had to surf with only one arm?

    Fred P just said he was trying to get interference to lose heat does not plan to surf round 2. What's up with that?

    Just listened to his post heat interview. Hes off the CT, that was his last heat.
    He wants to help at risk youth's in Hawaii... Good for him, Maybe he can open a son of followers charter out there. haha

    Nice guy but I am not digging that strategy...and he wins the heat outright and had priority when trying to interfere...just weird. His family seems stoked and he seemed pretty humble in interview. I guess going out on top (with a 10 and a heat win) is pretty cool. Someone will benefit from him pulling out

    is Kelly slater retiring after this year?i put the webcast on for like 5 minutes,and I seen a bunch of tour legend names pop up like cj,bede,taj and said they are retiring.and slater was on the list.would really suck if he retires,i probably wouldn't watch the contests anymore
