Oh, you mean the random picture I pulled off the internet? You thought that was me?
I remember why you hate me... because you were backing Archy's psychotic tin foil rants. You really do believe everything you see on the internet. Hey look, here is one more picture of me:

Surfing cold can be painful at times. If you are stuck inside and have to take a dozen on the noggin' and you don't say that doesn't suck I wouldn't believe you. Also, people tend to cramp up and that can be very dangerous in winter surfing in particular....but overall its good fun. In short, yes its fun but also can be painful; comes with the territory of winter surf.

Nova Scotia's water temps ain't that much colder than the NE's. I read Gordon Korman novels so I know a lot aboot Canada.

Maybe, regularly, a five degree difference during the winter. Aboot

Hold on a minute, yeah, they don't warm up like Jersey does in the summer, but neither does Maine.

Oh man, such nice water in Jersey in July...

Ahh but that's assuming no South wind upwelling...

However, Nova Scotia is so much better than the NE US. Oh my gosh, so nice. They have the set-ups, boo. And the people are Canadian so they aren't meany guys like guys in New Jersey. So mean.....

Is that Portland, ME ferry to NS still opening in May? That ship looked good. 8hr trip in comfort.

Yeah, any word on the cost of that?

Portland all the way to Halifax is only 8-8.5 hours by car, the ferry price would have to be pretty good for me to spend the extra money to be on a ship for 9 hours only to end up in Yarmouth, NS, which is still on the west coast of NS. Might be some cool unexplored waves down by that Southern tip though...NS seems so ripe for exploration

Ya brah, that's gotta be a gnarly ride up that on first glance doesn't look terribly accessible. But you get to scope all the hidden surprises of that desolate coast. You know it's fruitful with mad points. That, and you get to fend off Deliverance with Chuck's horizontal family tree descendants in the Unorganized Territory.

Really though, I got no problem posting up in lounge mode on a plush cruise ship for 9 hours each way. Could hop on the wifi and heckle some of you broads en route to charging best peaks in the N. Atlantic. Bet there's some fine Frenglish speaking wahines staffing that cutter.

Hearty northeasterners for sure. I bowed out a few days and watched from the car. Blamed it on my sore rotator cuff....

I was on that ferry back in the Paleolithic Age, circa 1995.

It wasn't too plush. The staff were a bunch of pissed-off, attitude-laden islanders who looked like they wanted to cut the white man.

The rooms, if you get one, suck. And the slot machines are rigged.

Though maybe it has changed. I mean it was still cool sucking down brew on the deck in the twinkling starlight.

But ahhh man once you get on Nova Scotia...........ahhhhhh yeahhhhh.

I f'ing love that place. It's the best as can.

Those prices are tough. $79 to start without touching bringing on a car, getting a chair that reclines or a cabin to sit/sleep in during the 9 hour trip...

Looks like I'll have to keep on making the drive. Sucks, New Brunswick is such a barren landscape to drive through.

I'll jump on that fare real fast and carpool with a bud. Gas ain't cheap! And that's a few miles of a drive and back, not to mention the time you're stuck to doing nothing but keeping focus on monotonous road all the while screwing up your legs and lower back for your surf trip. Worth driving once to check out all the off the beaten path surf spots, but I'm shipping it otherwise.
