So the girls finally talked me into doing yoga. Wow, surprisingly good workout. Gonna have to make this a regular thing, definitely helping me feel less like a rusty robot.

Anybody else doing yoga? Ya feel it's helped your surfing?

    I like yogurt too.

I don't do yoga really often, although I wish I did it more.

I do stretch a lot though and have been for a few years now. I've added miles to my runs and my overall health is drastically improved.

I stretch for hours sometimes, although lately I haven't been as consistent as I would like.

Stretching has become my secret weapon. I don't even bother telling most people because if you tell someone they need to stretch for an hour, and regularly, and more often than they exercise, they immediately lose interest.

I'm a total badass though so they just assume my advice isn't applicable. It is, I'm weaker than most people that's what drives me to make myself better.

So yeah bro don't stop stretching.

Are we talking regular yogurt, or whale yogurt?

I do it nearly every day I don't surf and it's help my back/neck loads. Vinyasa flows are where it's at.

This guy does several "Yoga for surfers" videos cuz he surfs and skates. Pretty good workout too.

Bet that guy crushes puss. But for real, I mix yoga and static stretching. Usually do it before sessions for about 20 minutes if time permits but not gonna overdue it. I'm not really into the whole soul and finding yourself thing in yoga. I just like to surf

Yes - I'm 57 and have been doing yoga for 10 years, definitely helps with flexibility. Keeping shoulders, back and hips working helps keep me surfing. Don't forget that the breathing aspect is as important as the postures.

Yeah I already stretch a lot, and every day, but the yoga was a surprising workout as well.

Now that I think about it I think you mentioned this before. Glad to hear man. Four slipped disks is no joke. I've had a ton of other injuries too, hopefully it will help you as much me.

I hear ya on the breathing, I was terrible at it. The whole routine was harder than I expected. Gonna have to make it a regular thing.

Been doing it for 5yrs. Great for flexibility. Started going to a class that I got talked into when I first started. Before I went I was embarrassed to do it. It was worse when I got there because I was the only dude. After about 10 min I realized that it was the best thing I ever did, not for the fitness but because I was the only dude. Seriously your chances of getting a fine piece of a go up 10 fold when you are the only dude in a class with 20-30 hotties.

I'm a strong supporter of women's rights, esp. when it comes to their right to wear yoga pants, any damn where they please.
