Ha I was gonna say when you tell your friends you're either not coming out, or not drinking at all because you know you're getting up at 5am.:D

You know you're an east coast surfer when you wake up at 4 am for first light when the forecast is 3-4 ft @ 7 seconds.

^ Haha done that many a time. You know you're a surfer when you are in the water, nothing else in the entire world matters except the next wave. ( O and those damn SUP guys snaking everybody!)

you know you're a surfer when

The only time you train is when the waves are flat, and the only reason you train is to be in shape for when it's not flat.

The only places you'll consider vacationing are those with good waves.

You get skunked and your optimism continues to tell you that next time will be better.

You choose your vehicle by how capable of carrying your quiver and it is, and how well it handles driving on the beach.

You dream about your all time waves consistently and vividly for years and remember exactly where you were and when you were there.
