Trapping is sadistic and not a necessary element of wildlife management And pretty much all trappers should be put down. 3 family dogs killed by snares within 24 hours on public land they had accessed for years. http://k2radio.com/traps-kill-familys-three-st-bernards-near-garden-creek/?trackback=fbshare It is not hunting, it is not necessary, and it is only fueled by greed. Sorry to bring this back up but it's something I monitor everyday and this case is really extraordinary. And you will see more of this, mostly out west, as fur prices rise on Asian and Russian markets, and more good ole boys heed the call.
Un-f*cking-real! Talk about making my blood boil. I would love to have a "little talk" with this "trapper", a$$hole, pillow biting, sh!t bag. A public hanging in front of his family would be just fine. F*cking c*ck sucker, a$$ clown, dueche canoe, d!ck wad, moron.
Agreed Doug I'd be in jail. I can't imagine watching my dog die in a snare while struggling to get him out. This illustrates why trapping needs to go. And before anyone says it...yes, I'm ok with Inuit and other Arctic people wearing the furs of the animals they've killed. But not team realtree.

Funny b/c I was gonna type this under Manisses' post...this sh!t is beyond PETA cliche stuff dude. I've never given a dime to PETA, knew about these issues before I knew about PETA, and quite frankly am tired of being associated with them. There is a great tradition of environmental thought in American culture. Know your history. And don't get mad when I get snarky about some frivolous human cause. grainofsand that indeed is very sad, but it is not news to me. That article is irrelevant to the topic at hand.
Sorry. I'm having a hard time getting worked up about anything this fine Friday and am just clowning around. I'll take my good cheer to the 'what are you drinking' thread. FWIW I'm with yall. We need to conserve and foster what we have left, be it the American oak tree or wolves, et all.
I don't understand...in regards to PETA? I'm well aware of the money trail in regards to predator 'control'/trapping/public lands/etc.
Those snares aren't limited to the western states, btw, not that anyone made that claim. My cuz in upstate NY has a helluva time with keeping her dog out of those strangulation devices. Indiscriminately strangling animals to death, whatever comes along......and we're the civilized species.....wtf
@Seldom, all of it. the Ad/TV sponsors for the show and channel. PETA, yeah them too - I'm sure the board members are eating exotics and laughing all the way to the bank
That's f*cked. I was up there about a month ago, camping and hiking. I let my dog run wild on state and public land. I love my dog very much, and she is awesome in so many ways. If she got snared, I would hunt the trapper without thinking twice. While hiking, I was getting ready to make camp in bear infested territory because finding our way off the mountain was very challenging. There was no trail, and sh!t looks very different going in the other direction, despite me leaving marks the whole way up. We were making our way, but slowly, and late in the afternoon. Making camp was inevitable until I thought to put my dog on point. We practically flew off the mountain at break-neck speed. My bad a$$ dog knew exactly where she was going.
This week marks the 20th anniversary of wolf reintroductions in Yellowstone and Idaho. As stated in the article, arguably one of the most successful conservation efforts in history. http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/bozeman/guest-column-yellowstone-wolf-reintroduction-a-seminal-moment/article_908282b2-64c5-5444-a2c2-f0b3470006e2.html
Thought I'd share the good news. USDA Wildlife Services aerial gunning plane crashes during predator control operation in New Mexico. http://www.abqjournal.com/596107/news/feds-identify-2-killed-in-raton-plane-crash.html
