I would imagine they were hitting it due to the sound it was making... That's why I laugh when people say "they don't like the taste of humans. They'll let go and leave you alone" I'm pretty sure I taste better than a piece of metal. \
Got ya. I didn't have the sound on. I just assumed that this thing was out in the water for a few days and they were playing the highlight reel. Just seems kind of odd that it would try and take a chunk out of the thing without investigating a little further.
