Cape Hatteras, NC:
What a mess! All the sand that had shaped up by the jetty from the north swell last week will be chewed up and taken away by the SE today.

Still way overhead and a mess. Slightly smaller than yesterday. I haven't been to frisco. I'm pretty sure there will sound tide on the road, through the morning anyway. Wind is supposed to drop off some this afternoon, becoming NE

Cape Hatteras, NC:
Really big swell, yesterday evening was all directions this am appears to be a full north. Breaking on the horizon. Roads are closed, overwash everywhere. Frisco is good size and clean but doubled up and closing out. About 9 am the wind just started blowing out of the north at about 15-25 and the sound tide is coming up. Yesterday afternoon in an unusual switch we were in the center and had calm winds, 70 degree temps while Wilmington and Nags Head had 50 degree temps and blowing North winds.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
a steady east wind blowing this morning at least 15 mph. it's ugly out there and will probably get uglier with the wind increasing this afternoon to northeast at 25-25 mph. the next high tide is around 2:30 this afternoon, when ocean overwash is possible up north of rodanthe.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
the tide was really low this morning and the surf rather disorganized looking. forecast for east wind at 5 to 10 mph today. i don't have much faith in it getting better today but it might be worth a peek a little later in the day.

no wind here this morning. the waves look mostly about waist high with a few bigger ones. shape is poor but may improve as the day goes on after high tide this morning around 10:15. the beach is really eaten away right now and the deep trough is between the break and the beach. there's no beach where the lifeguard stand was set up last summer (image one). wind forecast to be northeast at 5 mph all day.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
considerably less swell than yesterday. a lot of water south of the first jetty...high tide around 8:30......and too much wind north of the first jetty.....wind NNW around 10 mph. the lighthouse will probably improve with a lower tide. frisco is also smaller.........waist to maybe chest high every now and then and glassy but inconsistant with a lot of closeouts. wind forecast to be NW at 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph. water temp in frisco yesterday i'm guessing the upper 60's to maybe 70*.
