Cape Hatteras, NC:
the surf came up quite a bit at the lighthouse yesterday but seems to have dropped off a bit. it's pretty choppy and unorganized with a bit of current sweeping down the beach. frisco isn't as clean and lined up as yesterday. it's about waist to chest high with some bump on the water from the sideshore winds. high tide around 7:45 this morning, low around 2:15 this afternoon. there's been ocean over wash on highway 12 north of rodanthe resulting in road closures around high tide. wind forecast to be northeast at 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph out of the east sometime this afternoon. first pics of the lighthouse, the other frisco.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
sorry, once again no pictures but i promise in a few days i'll have them back. the wind has let up some since yesterday, forecast to be north at 10 to 15 mph. high tide around 7 this morning and the next low about 1:30 this afternoon. the lighthouse looks about chest to head high with a lot of current out of the north and okay shape. the sandbars there just aren't set up for this swell. frisco is about waist high and glassy. it was actually pretty fun over there yesterday if you could find the right sandbar at the right tide. swell has dropped a bit since yesterday and the water temp probably has also.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
sorry, my camera and laptop are out of town so i'm using a borrowed camera that isn't compatible with my computer so........no pictures today. the surf today at the lighthouse is head high with quite a bit of current from the north. with a different wind it would probably be pretty good. frisco is in the waist to chest high range and glassy but inconsistent. i would venture a guess that at the right sandbar and the right tide there will be some fun waves over there today. high tide around 6:30 this morning and the next low sometime around noon. wind forecast is north at 20 o 25 diminishing to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
the wind made it's switch around 8:15 this morning. surf at the lighthouse was about chest to shoulder high and fairly clean but with sub-par shape. south swell hitting a sandbar set up for a north. although i haven't seen it there should be some surf at frisco but it will depend on tides......high around 6 this morning with the next low around noon......and the wind which is forecast to be north at 20 to 25 mph. sorry for no picture as i borrowed a camera and the battery died.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
Side shore SW winds chopping up a small south swell. Wind is supposed to go more westerly, if there is enough swell should get better later. The water temp is really warm, probably low 70's

low tide around 9 this morning. next low tide around 3 this afternoon. wind forecast is west at 10 to 15 mph. the wind blew out of so many directions in the last day that the swell is coming from everywhere. very disorganized, hopefully the offshore wind will straighten it up at some point today. foggy.
