1/23/09 – Maybe approaching waist-high on some of the bigger ones with a sideshore west wind blowing at a pretty good clip. Not much to work with out there really. Water temp at 45 – lowest yet this winter. Have a great day - pics from Bogue Inlet Pier. Surf night – is this Saturday (1/24) at Ballyhoo’s!!! …Lost has stepped up to the plate big time with 5’5” Redux DVDs and plenty swag to give away. Size has backed down with a 10 second interval. Tough paddle out but Bill and Joe were scoring sections off the south side.

Ocean Beach, CA:

Good morning from the OB pier in San Diego - Waves look to be on the decline as they are down another notch from yesterday. We are in the knee-chest range with a rare shoulder-high one making its way in. Sand bars seem to be working again and we have 10 people on the north side of the pier, 10 at little jetty, and 5 at the dog beach. Mid-tide is fast approaching so get out there while the water is still clean. The rain somehow has steered clear of the downtown area for now but it may not last. Winds light offshore. Air temp: 63F. Water temp: 59F.
