Ocean Beach, CA:

Good morning from the OB pier in SD - Waves have definitely dropped a notch since yesterday and the very high tide isn't helping too much. We're in the knee to stomach range with sets at chest high. Either go to your favorite full tide spot or wait a bit for the south side to start breaking kindly. Air temp: 55F. Water temp: 59F. 0 on the south side ; 10-15 on the north side ; 10 at little jetty ; 5 at dog beach jetty.

Pismo Beach, CA:

Today the tide has it rolling a bit but plus sets have nice shape. Calm overcast and cool. Get it before it gets you.

Emerald Isle, NC:

1/8/08 – $#^*!@* wind. Not enough - too much, wrong direction – right direction, black – white, day – night, up – down, can – bottle, ying – yang. It’s blowing out of the west at roughly 20 mph providing us a sweepy waist- to chest-wave – actually the boneyard doesn’t look horrendous – might be able to get outside without too much drama – can’t tell if you’ll be able to stay in one place very effectively or not once you get out there. She’s supposed to rotate to the NW (offshore), and is already hinting so, but maintaining that 20 mph intensity. It will be light NW tomorrow morning when everything is probably gone – water temps at a relatively comfortable 55. Have a great day - pics from Bogue Inlet Pier.

DE:

Short after work session. A little dissapointing, but was still fun. I saw maybe two really nice head high long waves. The rest were in the stomach to chest range and breaking ok, a little mushy.

Springmaid Pier:

Lil wave action, Bad current, couple people out. I would say it was not worth a paddle out.Windyyyyyy
