The good news is that the wind has backed off despite the fact that wind direction is out of the East-northeast. Wave height is around thigh to waist with an outgoing tide. Sunday’s surf is still defined by an on-shore wind. Wave height is at least waist high but surface conditions are choppy. Air temps are in the mid 40’s backed by a 17 mph wind. Win chill feels like a high 30 degrees. The result is choppy surf with a wind chill: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

The surf was looking decent until Corolla (and the OBX) saw a switched in wind direction yesteray around 1:00 pm. Currnet wind direction is on-shore NE. Ocean conditions are currently rough and wave height is waist to chest at high tide. Ocean and air temps are macthing each other at about 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
