Right now, my pictures are showing high tide. The wind is out of the SE blowing at 14 mph. Obviously, the tide is going to need to drop for any swell to break. Great beach day with great water temps: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

We had a change in weather. Air temps cooled off. The wind is coming off the ocean and wave height is around knee cap to thigh high. This is an improvement over the ankle slapper surf we had over the last week The other good news is that water temps jumped back into the 70’s. Get your longboard and go surfing! Crazy weather day on the OBX yesterday! There was a late afternoon water spout off of the Pimlco Sound. Corolla is dead high with the moon phase pulling the tide all the way up to the beach . If there is any chance of an ankle slapper to knee cap high wave, it will be after 12:00 Noon. NOTE: SUNDOGS, MICHAELA ANNE TOMORROW NIGHT!!! RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO COROLLA SURF SHOP!

Today is just like the last 5 days: tide dependent, SW off-shore wind, water temps in the low 60’s Fahrenheit and ankle slapper to knee cap high surf. My best recommendation is to consider surfing during mid tide. I took these pictures at 8:00AM in Ocean Hills. NOTE: TONIGHT AT THE BREW STATION, MICHAEL ANNE!

Corolla still has a repeat of the same surf conditions for the last 4 days. Knee Cap Wave height will be dependent upon the tide. Low tide is at 1:18 PM, so we will have an incoming tis afternoon. Water temps are on the low side:64-65 degrees Fahrenheit. But the heat index is extreme, so the cooler water will help keep your body temp down. PSA: DRINK LOTS OF WATER. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Just when I was ready to throw in the preverbal towel on today’s surf, the tide drops! Wave height is about knee cap high with an off-shore win holding up the sections. Water temps are 65 degrees Fahrenheit which will help cool you off. Drinking water, longboard, rash guard and performance sun screen. NOTE: COMING DOWN NEXT WEEK? I took these pictures at Shad Street this AM at 8:00. The high tide surf is just rolling up on shore leaving Corolla with tide dependent ankle slapper to knee cap high waves. Low tide is at 5:54 PM. I would check out your favorite/most dependable sand bar around 1:00. The wind is currently off-shore which means water temps dropped down to 63 degrees Fahrenheit. PSA: DRINK LOTS OF WATER. I took these pictures as Corolla’s tide was outgoing. There is ground swell coming from the ESE: knee to waist. But at this low tide posting, our sandbars might be a too shallow. I would wait till about 11:30AM and see if the incoming tide improves conditions. The steady off-shore is keeping water temps down. Current H2O is 61 degrees Fahrenheit. As predicated, Corolla is seeing small surf at this posting. Wave height is only knee cap at low tide. Last night’s powerful off-shore wind caused a drop in size and pushed water temps down. If you managed to catch some surf this week, you probably like next week predications. Wave height is currently thigh to maybe waist. Corolla currently has an off-shore wind blowing at 12 to 15 mph. Water dropped down from the high 70’s to the low 70’s Fahrenheit. The tide is about to flip from outgoing to incoming, so there should be a slight increase in size. If you liked yesterday’s surf, you will probably want to go surfing today. Wave height is currently thigh high plus. What is helping is an incoming tide and a light off-shore wind that is holding the sections up. Corolla has a great water temp at 75 degrees. I spent the early AM in KDH at Lee’s Little Shore Breakers Surf Camp. These pics were taken in KDH. I ‘ll be in Corolla later on today. If there is a big difference in conditions, I’ll make a new post. Current wave height is thigh to waist. The OBX is going from Low to High tide, so there might be a slight in size this AM. Water temps are 79 degrees. GOOD SURF DAY!

Compared to the lack of surf we had in July, today could be surf-able. Wave height is knee cap plus with an on-shore wind. Conditions are semi-choppy and we have an incoming tide. Surf conditions have changed since the weekend. The waist to stomach performance surf we had this weekend has been chopped up due to an on-shore wind. Current wave height is thigh to waist on an incoming tide. Corolla does have an on-shore wind. WARNING: AT THIS POSTING WE DO HAVE A THREAT OF LIGHTING! WAIT FOR THE SKIES TO CLEAR BEFORE YOU GO OUT ON THE BEACH.

I think the CSS crew is all surfed out! The waist plus surf we had yesterday has dropped down to knee/thigh. You will definitely need to wait for the tide to drop. Took these pictures at dead high. Check your favorite sand bar around1:00 & get you long board. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
