Corolla is getting ready for our 1st winter storm. The wind is out of the ENE. Air temp is 40 degrees but with a 15 mph, wind chill fells like 30 degrees. I took these pictures looking north from Ocean Hills towards the horse fence. Surface conditions are choppy and wave height is thigh to waist with broken sections. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla has had some decent surf over the last three days but the wind has switched & is blowing out of the ENE. This might be a prelude to the winter weather that’s on the way for the OBX. Wave height is only ankle-slapper to knee cap with semi-choppy conditions. Although air temp is around 40 degrees, H20 is still 51 degrees Fahrenheit. NOTE: IF WE GET A WINTER STORM THIS WEEKEND, COROLLA SURF SHOP WILL PROBABLY BE CLOSED. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
January’s weather is more like November’s. Wave height is waist plus with well defined sections. The wind is offshore coming out of the WSW. We will call this a solid long boarding day. Water temp is still at 50 degrees and air temps are hanging at about 59 degrees Fahrenheit. Equipment of choice: longboard, 3.2mm full suit, boots & gloves: NOTE: WE WILL BE OPEN THIS WEEKEND!
