Goodbye Hurricane Art! This was a quickie that came & went. Corolla currently has an on-shore wind, head high waves and an on-shore wind blowing at 15 to 17 mph. The result is choppy surface conditions but warmer ocean temps. There will also be a strong side shore current running North to South as Arthur moves into the North Atlantic. NOTE: THIS THURSDAY IS THE MAKE UP DAY FOR THE CSS SKIM & SURF GROM FEST. E-MAIL US AT info@corollasurfshop.com for a contest application
Good morning. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Unfortunately the surf is flat again. The wind is blowing out of the NNE at 6 mph and the air temperature is 75 degrees. High tide is at 7:15 this morning and low tide is at 8:25 tonight. It's a beautiful morning to take out the SUP for a paddle. Have a great Saturday and we will give you another surf report at midday.
From my finite perspective in Corolla, it looks like we dodged a bullet. Wave height is about 12 feet with a storm force wind blowing off shore. But from my street in Corolla, we do not have any beach erosion and the tide is all the way out. But we still have wind speed of 50 to 65+ w/gusts. I would wait before entering the water: rip currents, high winds and no swimming flags will be posted. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP 1:30 PM UPDATE: BEACHES ARE RED FLAGGED. SURF IS DOUBLE OVERHEAD WITH A VERY STRONG OFF SHORE WIND BUT COROLLA IS DOING JUST FINE.
Good morning and happy fourth of July! It's another beautiful morning out here at Pensacola Beach. Unfortunately the surf is totally flat. It looks like a gigantic lake. The wind is blowing out of the NE at 6-8 mph and the air temperature is 76 degrees. High tide is at 7:53 this morning and low tide is at 10:26 tonight. We are not expecting the surf to build today but we will keep our eyes on it. Today looks like a great day to be outside. The winds are supposed to stay offshore all day so it should be a great night for fireworks. Whoohoo. Have a great 4th and we will give you another surf report later today.
Good morning! It is an overcast morning out here on Pensacola Beach. The surf is flat. It is still the Lake of Mexico out here. The winds are coming out of the NNE at 6-7 mph causing for offshore conditions and flatness. High tide is at 12:37 this afternoon and will be going out for the rest of the day. The forecast is so dismal for the next few days. Maybe we will have surf....One day. Have a great Thursday. Be safe if you are traveling!
