Choppy conditions in the chest to shoulder high range. Winds are on it from the WSW and will be most of the day. Could see some fun little waves tomorrow morning as winds go NW. Sorry for the late report.
We have the size, an incoming tide and an off-shore wind (SSW). But the weather/conditions rapidly change in Corolla (as well as all of the OBX). Wave heigh is stomach to chest w/make-able sections. But the SSW has pushed the warmer water out. Current H2O is 46 degrees Fahrenheit. NOTE: WE ARE BRINGING SHORTER BUT FATTER SMALL BOARDS. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
Tuesday April 8, 2014. Surf was good today in playa Santa Teresa. Waves were in the waist to chest high range and getting smaller through the day as SW swell slowly eases. Conditions were nice and clean in the early morning and there were some very good rides at the peak upfront BLue Surf Sanctuary. Waves were steep and hollow when they hit the sand bar with the low tide, yet open and easy to catch!
Good afternoon. The wind is still blowing out of the West at 11-13 mph so get your boards ready for tomorrow morning. It's going to be offshore! Here are a couple of pictures from this afternoon.
