well I've been scoping out all the different swell predictions for most of the SE breaks and I'm pretty sure --------------->Cape Lookout http://www.swellinfo.com/surf-forecast/cape-lookout-north-carolina <----- iswhere the cleanest juice is gonna be. too bad it'll be pretty impossible to reach by any normal means of conveyance. Please fill us in you folks from EI/Bogue Sound/Harker's Island who make it out there ok?

Can we get some Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina storm reports? Some eyewitness info would be nice as dude strengthens.

Arthur is all but gone down here, but it's still fun in N. Fla, NSB looks fantastic, not huge by any means, but nice quality. Too bad i'm stuck in this office till about 2pm, won't be in the water till the morning, and it'll be thigh-waist at best at the right tide. Guess I'll have to enjoy this one from the cams...

Georgia was fun this morning, 3-6ft with offshore winds. I even saw a few guys get barreled for a second or two. It's already dropped to 2ft and will be at 1.5 by the end of the day. Short lived but fun!

Last night was 4-5ft and clean. This morning was 6-9ft and a mess. Looks big but still messy. I am waiting for the wind to die off.

It's almost gone here in Jax. Clean, long, little lines which are perfect for the log are what's left but it's dropping like a rock because of the offshore wind.

^fun little variable waist to chest high+ barrels when I showed up to Mayport at 5:30 am...and hour or so later it was already half the size but still rippable.

That is what was going on here overnight, but as soon as you get the hard north winds, it will switch to offshore a couple hours later.

Just looked at the washout cam, looks very fun up there right now. Light offshore and consistent. It's not huge with the tide dropping out, but it looks about head high on the HD cam.

Just giving anyone north of me a heads up. The swell peaked this morning in the early AM and was solid all the way through lunch... It is 2.5 hours after low tide, and it is still working down here. So things could get dicey up in the NC/Hatteras region, but as long as the weather doesn't get you guys, Arthur is kicking around a solid 12 hours of swell at least. Its not still draining barrels, but there are consistent waves and it has been offshore all day since 8-9am.

Those steep SSE facing beaches may have issues, but the guys in VB and Delmarva/Jersey may get more than just a couple hours tomorrow. And you guys don't have to worry about the tides as much, so I would prepare for a pretty fun, long day.

The winds are going to be the major issue...I always use weather underground for current readings.

Just time it right. It SHOULD go from victory at sea, to sideshore chop, to back offshore on its way past. Unless it rolls right over top of you or swings way back out. The wind pattern stayed the same through FL, GA and SC so it was very predicitble down here as far as the wind was. Cross winds, to North Winds, to offshores on the cleanup. Delmarva has a similar beach angle to us, we are a little more SE facing, but the patterns SHOULD line up for you well after the storm passes. Unless something completely crazy happens as it passes through hatteras.

Myrtle Beach cleaned up now. Even without a lot of tide, it looks good and cleaned up. WB cam looks jacked right now. probably clean up in the morning if there is still swell out there.

Holden Beach all day huge and clean. North wind is offshore there but no one was out. As big as I have ever seen it in my 25 yrs. of surfing that place. Seems like it was in the bulls eye of this swell, like it can get when they swing up really close like that. The core of the storm was literally inches from us. It was reforming off the end of the pier from way overhead peaks. Watched a couple of takers try and be denied. So we went to Myrtle to catch the turning offshore wind and it was ridiculous fun from the high tide at around 1 until 3 for the first session. The N wind crossed up the long period ESE groundy for some overhead juicy sections w/ a lot of hardcore paddling and relentless duck diving. Made the mistake off bouncing sections all the way to the beach and paid the price once or twice. After some grub session #2 was even more fun w/ the incredibly rare for Myrtle long bowly chest to head high lefts rifling down the beach. Dead low tide was chest high, rapidly diminishing and getting a bit to fast for this geezer but it was just what the doctor ordered. Thank you universe, I needed that.

Got there a lil late at 7 and the place was already a zoo. Lined up next to blue roofs and picked off waves for a couple of hours. It actually got better again this afternoon before the storm passed through
