Corolla, NC:
We are lucky! Great Easter Sunday on the beach and we have surf. Wave height is waist high with a steady off-shore wind that is holding the sections open. I took these pictures at my home break. I’m feeling better about the surf breaks at the Lighthouse Ramp Road. The SW wind is lifting over the dune & cottages. This helps to create a bubble right at the shore line with a reduced wind speed. H20 is 51 degrees. Air temp will hit a high in the 70’s before the day is out: GO SURFING! FROM THE CSS CREW: HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Easter Saturday could turn out to be a decent surf day! Wave height is from this to stomach. I took these pictures at Shad Street just before the peak of high tide. The wind is blowing out of the ESE at about 10 mph. WE gad a little rain around 7:00AM but the sun is breaking out and it’s looking like a good day on the beach. The other good news is that Corolla’s H20 has hit 55 degrees Fahrenheit: NOTE: COROLLA NOW HAS A LIVE SURF CAM: http://obxsurfinfo.com/reports/corolla-surf-report/ PLUS QUEEN ANNE’S REVENGE IS PLAYING AT SUNDOG’S TONIGHT

At this posting, Corolla has an outgoing tide & waist to chest surf. The wind is off-shore and blowing at 15 mph. There are some quick sections to be had, but I have to classify to conditions as “wind dependent”. The on-shore wind has moved the warmer waters close to shore. Board of choice: 6 3” quad: 3:2mm full. NOTE: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Drove back late last night from RDU but I’m back home today. When I 1st checked the surf early this am, Corolla has small thigh high surf and an off-shore wind. But we have had a major change in conditions: the wind has turned around and is now out of the ENE. Wave height has increased and we currently have stomach to chest high surf. The on-shore wind is knocking the sections over. Board of choice: high performance board, less volume and more maneuverability. Air temp will feel like 70 out of the wind but on the beach you will need a sweat shirt: NOTE: REMEMBER, WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY FOR BIKES, SURFBOARDS, BODYBOARDS, SKIMBOARDS, KAYAKS AND STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDS. I’m currently traveling but now that we have a camera set up in south Corolla, I can check that and let you know what I think: Corolla still has small surf despite the forecast that it would increase. I think we will see a wind shift and increase in size by tomorrow. Current wave height is around knee cap high. This size will make surfing dependent on the sand bar you choose and the tide: NOTE: I WILL BE BACK IN COROLLA TOMORROW! WE ARE NOW OPEN EVERY DAY! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

The issue today is the lack of any low pressure system that can create swell. You can tell from the pictures that wave height is only ankle slapper to maybe knee high. A great day to be on the beach and to take a Stand-Up Paddle board out. Current air temp is 70 degrees Fahrenheit: WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY ON ANY OF OUR RENTAL PRODUCTS. I just got off the beach. Great weather but very small surf: ankle slapper to maybe knee cap high. Air temp is currently 70 degrees Fahrenheit and H20 is 51 degrees. Th tide just flipped at 12:30, some have an incoming tide. But the wind is out of the Southeast which is not helping the surf. We are looking towards Monday & Tuesday for a slight increase in size: THE COROLLA SURF SCHOOL IS OPEN AND JASON & ANDY HAVE ALREADY GIVEN LESSONS THIS WEEK. GO TO www.corollasurfshop.com/lessons

Corolla has a steady on-shore wind blowing at 20 + w/gusts. This has knocked the size down to knee cap high. But the tide flipped which may the help to increase size. Once we get rid of this on-shore wind, we should see an improvement in surface conditions. NOTE: THANKS OBXsurfinfo for getting a live cam up in Corolla!!!! Big difference between yesterday and today! A thunderstorm rolled through Corolla last night which precipitated a change in wind direction. That weather system continues today. We have a strong ESE wind that is making for rough surface conditions. Swell direction has changed from yesterday’s east direction to an east-south east swell. We hope you got out on Wednesday but today is not the day: STAY POSTED TO THE COROLLA SURF AND OBXsurfinfo REPORTS FOR A MAJOR UP-GRADE IN OUR THE COROLLA SURF REPORT!

You need to find some good excuses to get out of either work and/or school! I just took these pictures at my home break. Corolla is going from Low to High tide. Wave height is waist to stomach. An excellent longboard day or any board w/volume. The wind is light and off-shore. H20 is 51 degrees Fahrenheit and we will have an air temp that should hit over 70 degrees: GO SURFING!!!

I just looked at the surf right at the horse fence. Wave height is waist to chest w/an off-shore wind. Corolla has an incoming tide: 1:50 PM. Beautiful day with air temp hitting at least 70 degrees. Water temp is hanging in there at 50 degrees Fahrenheit: NOTE: YES, THE COROLLA SURF SCHOOL IS OPEN AND WE HAVE CLASSES ALREADY GOING OUT. www.corollasurfshop.com/lessons

The good news: This morning the wind switched & turned off-shore. But the surf forecasters have are calling for wind to clock around to the SE. Corolla is heading into high tide: 12:38 Noon. Wave height is stomach to chest which means the outside break is getting a mushy. Recommendation: it will be a balancing act between the out going tide and the switching. Board of Choice: Longboard: NOTE: WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY ON ALL OF OUR RENAL PRODUCTS. GARY, COROLL SURF SHOP

You can tell by the pictures I just took that Corolla has an on-shore wind. Yes, we have the size, (chest high on the faces) but the sections are being knocked over. The on-shore 16 mph wind has chopped up the surface but has also brought warmer waters close to shore: H20 = 52 degrees Fahrenheit: the warmest H20 of the year. The good news is that the wind might be switching: NOTE: REMEMBER, WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY ON ALL OF OUR RENTAL PRODUCTS: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
