Corolla is getting ready for the winter storm that is already hitting the ENE. The forecast is for high winds and rain. The ocean & air temps are too warm at this moment for Corolla to get any snow, (at least at this posting). The OBX has a high wind coming out of the North at 25 plus. I just took these pictures at Shad Street. We have a very rough ocean, wave height is 3’ with broken sections and a very strong side-shore current: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Air temp has shot up to 70 degrees. This warm air has created a thick fog. The off-shore wind allows surface conditions to be semi-glassy. Wave height is only knee cap high but we have an out going tide with well defined sand bars. There should be some decent breaks in south Whalehead. Water temps move up to 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Unseasonably warm day with a strong off-shore wind out the SSW. Air temps are forecasted to hit 70 degrees. You can tell by the pictures I took that the wind has flatten the surf. Corolla is currently going from low to high tide but the surf is so flat that even the incoming tide is not increasing wave height: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Spring like weather but very small surf. Wave height is ankle slapper to knee cap w/a light off-shore wind. At this posting, we have a light off-shore wind and an incoming tide. We have no complaints about the weather, it is helping to keep H20 temps out of the 30’s: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Super Bowl Sunday Surf Report! I just took these pictures in front of my home break. Wave height is between knee to thigh with an off-shore wind: super clean conditions with makable longboard sections. Air temp this afternoon is 50 degrees Fahrenheit with a nominal wind chill: NOTE: THE CSS CREW HOPES THAT YOU GET TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY AND ENJOY THE SUPER BOWL. It’s all about the wind. Wind direction is out of the North to northeast. Wave height is wist to stomach and very choppy. Current air temp is 38 degrees and wind chill feels as if air temp is 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The North wind is creating a side-shore current running north to south. I took these pictures at Dolphin Street. Despite the chop, you can see a wide variety of sandbars. Mid Corolla might offer a good selection of surf spots. Getting ready for a cold spell. Wind direction is out of the ENE and wind speed is 16 mph. This has created choppy waist high surf at high tide and a wind chill that will probably drop down inot the 20's. We have had very surf able swell over the last two weeks. Today is not one of those days: GARY, CORLLA SURF SHOP

The surf is small but clean: about knee cap high. The good news is that air temps are in the 60’s, zero wind chill and H20 moved up a degree. Corolla has an out-going tide which means that you might be able to go long boarding the closure get to low tide. Even if you don’t want to go surfing, you need to spend some time on the beach: GARY ,COROLLA SURF SHOP

Compared to yesterday, today’s conditions are an improvement. Wave height is knee cap high with an outgoing tide. The wind is coming out of the SWS at 20 mph. This AM’s air temp was 40 degrees but with clear skies, we should see temps hit 50 degrees Fahrenheit. That means Corolla has a minimal wind chill that feels like 35 degrees. The Corolla Surf Shop buying team is currently at the Surf Expo in Florida but here are the surf conditions for Corolla: We are coming out of high tide, small 1 for surf and a light off-shore wind. The OBX is experiencing very mild weather with air temps in the 60’s. I recommend waiting for the tide to drop, then check the surf and see if you can go long boarding. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla has the size: wave height is over head. The wind currently is blowing out if the NWN which is switch from yesterday. THE change in wind direction caused a drop in air temp. Currently air temp matches water temp at 46 degrees. All things factored in, conditions are for experienced surfers: NOTE: I WILL BE LEAVING FOR THE SURF EXPO. I WILL TRY TO KEEP REPORTING AND WILL POST ANY NEW PRODUCT INFO FROM ORLANDO. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Surprise! Wave height is at least nose high on the faces. Corolla currently has an incoming tide and an off-shore wind. I just took these pictures at Shad Street. The paddle out might be a little challenging in a 5/4/3 but that might be the wetsuit of choice with a water temp of 46 degrees Fahrenheit. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

I just checked the surf. Corolla has clean surf, a light wind out of WNW and an incoming tide. The sections don’t have a great vert drop, so that will make it a longboard day. Air temps are hanging in there around 55 degrees Fahrenheit: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
